Kuuma 空マ」is a music, art & DJ project by Detroit producer Francis Cuthbert. Their live hardware and DJ sets comprise sometimes spare, sometimes brutal sonic productions while “flirting with the timbral quality of video games” (The Wire), and have been heard around the midwest and east coast, at techno clubs, at comic and anime conventions, and as a resident with Glotaku and the Detroit Shipping Co. Kuuma is half of the techno duo I-R (slashsound, Detroit Underground) alongside Retcon, and together they host Patch Notes, a live modular synth series in Detroit's Cass Corridor neighborhood.
